Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Inc,. (SLTCFI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on January 15, 1990. During its maiden year, it was able to operate as a training center in Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines under Department of Education Culture and Sports (DECS) permit (No. TVED-04, s.1990). It was incorporated primarily in order to provide quality computer education and skills enhancement training in the most affordable cost to the underprivileged sector of the society.

In 1994, SLTCFI was accredited by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and was able to offer its technical –vocational trainings for information technology. From then on, as a growing institution SLTCFI never ceases in exploring possibilities in offering Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.

In 2002, through the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) accreditation, SLTCFI opened its doors to degree courses such as: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) and Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM) which paved the way for other degree courses to be offered.

Since its inception as a technical-vocational school for I.T., to a computer college, SLTCFI remains committed to help the Bicolano youth access global opportunities. Thus in 2004, the Institution opened its door to various I.T., industry partners both international and domestic for their graduates to easily land employment. The move did not only benefit the Institution but more importantly the industry as takers of highly competent graduates.
